Texas Tech transfer Pop Isaacs commits to Creighton
Creighton added one of the best transfers available in the portal on Saturday, with Pop Isaacs committing from Texas Tech. Isaacs averaged 15.8 ppg and 3.5 ppg this past season as a sophomore, the leading scorer for the Red Raiders. He’ll now pair up with Trey Alexander, forming the best backcourt in the Big East on paper at the current moment. Isaacs will have to look to be more efficient this season, shooting just 35% from the field and 29% from three-point range, but with an increased talent level on his supporting cast, he should be able to.
Kentucky lands commitment from Oklahoma transfer Otega Oweh
Kentucky landed a big commitment for the second day in a row, this time being Otega Oweh from Oklahoma. Oweh averaged 11.4 ppg this season as a sophomore and was a large part of the success in the beginning of the season, as the Sooners started 13-1. Mark Pope has started to fill out Kentucky’s roster, Oweh being the third transfer to land in Lexington. He joins San Diego State’s Lamont Butler and Drexel’s Amari Williams in the lineup, with plenty more transfer still to come. Oweh averaged 1.5 spg this past season, and combining his defensive talents with Butler gives Kentucky a much-improved backcourt from a defensive standpoint.
