Braylen Blue is a 6′ 4″ 2023 guard who recently transferred from Sun Prairie HS (WI) to Madison Memorial HS (WI). Blue has seen a rise in his recruitment over the last year picking up offers and interests from schools across the country.

Currently, Blue has received offers from the following schools: Howard, Jackson State, Grambling State, Eastern Washington, Tennessee Tech, Rice, IUPUI, and Washington. He also has interest from teams all across the country.  Those schools include Virginia Tech, Kansas State, Cal, George Washington, Stanford, and many others.

On Thanksgiving Day this past year, Blue received his first high major offer from the University of Washington. When asked about his thoughts on the program and how he thinks he could fit in, Blue stated: “I love Washington. They’ve made me a top priority, made me feel like I’m truly wanted and already family. I think I can fit in great both offensively (shooting, playmaking), and defensively (length and anticipation in the zone). The tradition and development at the guard position is special. Great staff, amazing city, elite conference, incredible academics.”

Blue recently had his high school season cancelled. Although, that didn’t stop him from practicing and training on a rigorous weekly schedule. He does on court training with former NBA/Overseas player Travis Diener. Blue also trains with Badger great Josh Gasser as well as Bryan Donaldson, who has worked with players such as Tyler Herro and Markus Howard. He also does strength/jump training, ball-handling training via zoom, speed/agility, yoga, and mental skills.

Blue describes himself as having elite court vision and a great feel for the game. He rebounds the ball well from the guard position and can shoot the 3 at an elite level. Blue has good size and length for a point guard and a high basketball IQ. He also mentions that he loves to push the ball in transition and excels in pick and roll.

Braylen Blue could see another rise in his recruitment later this year. The contact period opens up for 2023 prospects on June 15th.
