Last week, William Jewell star G/F Eysan Wiley entered the transfer portal. This past season at William Jewell, a D2 institution in Missouri, the 6′ 5″ Wiley averaged 18PPG and 8 RPG. His best performance came against Drury where he scored 28 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.

Wiley discussed his game and recruitment with Hoop Scoop Media:

What programs have shown interest since you entered the portal?

D1: Winthrop, Loyola Chicago, Missouri State, Towson, Montana, UCSD, Northern Arizona, North Alabama, UIC, Colorado St, South Dakota, Niagara, Robert Morris, Evansville, Cal Baptist, Eastern Illinois, Cal Poly, Kent State, Arkansas State

D2: Palm Beach Atlantic, Drury, Central Missouri, Catawba, East Central, Tiffin, Davenport, Colorado Christian, Truman State, Northwest Missouri State, Grand Valley State, Cal State San Bernardino, Missouri Western.

How would you describe your game?

“I’m a versatile player that can do a lot of things. I can space the floor, put the ball down and attack, pass, defend, and do the dirty work of diving on the floor, screening hard, and taking charges. I can also post up and play with my back to the basket or face up.”

When do you want to make a decision?

“I want to make a decision some time in May, so that I can go on visits to D1 schools.”

What led to your decision to enter the transfer portal?

“I went in the portal to find a program that was winning, and had some pieces that I can mesh with to make a tournament run. I also wanted to give coaches some time to recruit with the extra scholarship, and give myself time to find my next destination.”

What are the biggest things you look for when choosing a school?

“The biggest thing I look for in a school is if they are winning, the masters programs they have, the type of housing they have, and they style the team plays.”

What would you bring to the team that lands you?

“I bring leadership, a hard working mindset, grittiness, toughness, and a will to win.”
