#4 Tennessee’s balanced attack gets past #14 Alabama on the road

In a game between the SEC’s two best teams, Tennessee completed the season sweep over Alabama, winning on the road at Coleman Coliseum. Zakai Zeigler led the Vols with 18 points, as Dalton Knecht was held to 13 points. Alabama led 58-51 with 12 minutes to play, but Tennessee outscored the Crimson Tide 30-16 over the rest of the game. Tennessee’s three-point defense was the key to the game, as the Vols held Alabama to 9-37 from behind the arc. Alabama had a handful of chances to tighten the game late on, but the shots didn’t fall. Tennessee can claim the #1 seed in the SEC tournament with a win in their last two games, playing at South Carolina and hosting Kentucky.

Jamal Shead sinks Oklahoma at the buzzer to give #1 Houston its 7th straight win

Houston let a 15-point second half lead slip away Saturday night, as Javian McCollum tied the game at 85-85 for Oklahoma with 12 seconds left. Houston responded on its final possession, with Jamal Shead driving to the basket, missing off the rim, before eventually corralling an offensive rebound and sinking a fadeaway with 0.4 seconds to play. LJ Cryer led Houston with 23 points, as J’Wan Roberts also had a big night with 20 points on 10-12 shooting. Oklahoma stayed in the game in most part due to their 12-25 shooting from behind the arc. The win was Houston’s seventh straight, as the Cougars finish the regular season visiting UCF and hosting Kansas and would wrap up the Big 12 regular season title with two wins.

Graham Ike and Ryan Nembhard’s big games lead #23 Gonzaga to win over #17 Saint Mary’s

The final night of the WCC regular season belonged to the Zags, who got revenge over Saint Mary’s from early February. The 70-57 win was Gonzaga’s 13th win in the last 14 games, with the only loss being to Saint Mary’s. Graham Ike (24 points, 10 rebounds) and Ryan Nembhard (20 points, 10 assists) each had double-doubles, and played near perfect games Saturday night. The Zags continued on their great second half performance against San Francisco by dominating Saint Mary’s in the first half, 44-28. Over February, the Zags have significantly risen their stock, and are now safely into the NCAA Tournament field heading into the WCC tournament next weekend.
