College basketball media brand Field of 68 set to spice up college basketball’s opening day

Once the Champions Classic was moved off of the schedule for the first week of college basketball, the sport has had a relatively dry opening few days. Field of 68 media members Jeff Goodman and Rob Dauster have mentioned this fact in recent months in their podcast “Field of 68: After Dark”, and now they have put their money where their mouth is.

Field of 68 has partnered with Sanford Sports to put on the Field of 68’s Opening Day Showcase on November 4th in the Sanford Pentagon. The showcase will feature six of the top mid-major programs in an opening day tripleheader. Charleston will face Southern Illinois, Saint Louis will face Santa Clara, and McNeese State will face South Dakota State.

The first game is rumored to tip-off at noon E.T., which would mean an afternoon full of basketball on opening day. All three games should be action-packed, and it’s great to see an event where six of the nation’s best mid-major programs come together under one roof.
