#11 Baylor comes back from down 13 in second half to beat Texas

Texas got off to yet another hot start Monday night at Foster Pavilion, but the Longhorns’ lead went to waste in the second half. Max Abmas started the game on fire, and even though he couldn’t get some of the tougher looks to fall late in the second half, finished with 33 points on 13-21 shooting along with four steals. Baylor’s comeback was led by Jalen Bridges, who finished with 32 points including a 6-7 mark from three-point land. Trailing 55-42 early in the second half, Baylor outscored Texas 51-30 to finish the game, coming out on top 93-85. The Bears went 9-13 from three, a mark that will win you most games in the world of college basketball. Both teams finish the regular season Saturdau before heading to Kansas City for the Big 12 tournament, as Baylor visits Texas Tech and Texas hosts Oklahoma.

#9 Duke uses dominant second half to get past NC State

In a possible look-ahead spot for the Duke Blue Devils, they did more than avoid the trap, taking down their in-state rivals, NC State. Duke was led in scoring by Jeremy Roach, who finished with 21 points. DJ Burns Jr. had a dominant game for the Wolfpack, going 12-19 from the field, and finishing with 27 points, five rebounds, and four assists. The Wolfpack have had a rough final few weeks of the season, going 2-6 in their last eight games, and will finish the season Saturday at Pitt. The Blue Devils have trended in the complete opposite direction, having won eight of their last nine, and will finish the season Saturday hosting UNC in the best rivalry in college basketball. At the very least, Saturday’s game will give Duke a chance at a share of the ACC regular season title.

Queens and Jacksonville open up ASUN Conference Tournament with upset victories

The Atlantic Sun Conference takes a unique approach to their conference tournament, having the 7th and 8th seeds match up against each other while the 9th and 10th seed match up against each other on the opening night of the tournament. The 7/8 matchup takes place on the home court of the 2nd seed, with the winner taking on the 2nd seed, in this case, Stetson, while the 9/10 matchup does the same involving the top seed, in this case, Eastern Kentucky. In Monday night’s matchups, the 8th seeded Queens took down 7th seeded FGCU 69-63 behind AJ McKee’s 23 points, despite FGCU’s Isaiah Thompson finishing with a career high 31 points in his final collegiate game. 9th seeded Kennesaw State fell short in a high-scoring game against 10th seeded Jacksonville in the other first round game, with Robert McCray V leading the Dolphins with 31 points. Queens will matchup against Stetson tonight, while Jacksonville plays Eastern Kentucky.
