Over the past few months, 2022 big man Jai Smith has established himself as a highly sought after recruit. Holding more than 40 offers, Smith is being pursuing by teams across the country. He is one of the most skilled players in the class and also has a lot of upside.

Smith who stands at 6″ 10″ compares his game to that of Ben Simmons and Precious Achiuwa. Smith plays above the rim, always having a nose for the ball. He’s also very athletic and runs the floor well. This high school season for Word of God (NC), Smith put together many amazing performances including a 20 point, 25 rebound, 8 assist performance this past week.

Smith has received 46 offers to date including opportunities from many powerhouse programs. His offers are from the likes of: Baylor, Texas, Michigan State, Kansas, Alabama, Florida, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Maryland, Missouri, West Virginia, LSU, Memphis, Houston, and many more. Smith plans to cut his list in April or May.

Smith also states that he’s receiving interest from programs such as: Ohio State, Florida State, UNC, Duke, and Kentucky.

It will be interesting to monitor Smiths’ recruitment over the next few months to see if any other programs offer and if anyone separates themselves in the upcoming months.
