Wisconsin Completes Sweep of Michigan State as Storr Scores 28

In the biggest game of Friday night, Wisconsin took down Michigan State for the second time this season. Just two Badgers reached double digits in scoring, but AJ Storr had one of his best nights in a Badger uniform, scoring 28 points on 9-17 shooting. Just as they did in the first matchup, Wisconsin dominated the glass, outrebounding MSU 35-25, including 12 offensive rebounds. After a 1-2 start to the season, Wisconsin has won 15 of 17 and sits atop the Big Ten at 8-1 in conference play. Michigan State slides to 12-8 but will play a very favorable schedule for the next eight games.

Ed Cooley Returns to Providence

Georgetown heads to Providence for a game that in any previous year wouldn’t have been of great significance. That changed this offseason when Ed Cooley left Providence after 12 seasons at the helm. The Providence native had helped turn the program around even led the Friars to a Big East regular season title in 2022. Cooley may be in for a rude awakening at the Amica Mutual Pavilion (AMP) in today’s game, as many Providence fans didn’t feel fond of Cooley leaving for a Big East rival. Providence has won back-to-back games after a four-game losing streak and will surely have an extra boost from the crowd to make it three wins in a row.

Kansas Limps Into Hilton Coliseum

#7 Kansas will face #23 Iowa State this afternoon in a building where Iowa State hasn’t lost since February of last year. The Jayhawks are 1-2 in road games during conference play, including last Saturday’s embarrassing loss at West Virginia. Kevin McCullar and Hunter Dickinson have been banged up a bit for Kansas, but with five days rest since Monday’s home win over Cincinnati, the Jayhawks could be rejuvenated. Tamin Lipsey returned from injury for Iowa State during Wednesday’s win over Kansas State and should be ready to go for today’s game as well. There’s a lot on the line for a game this early in the season, as both teams sit at 4-2 in the Big 12, a half-game behind conference leaders Texas Tech.
